If only for the storybook moon that greeted the start of this 20 hour journey, I’m glad I came.  Dangling in the east above Toulouse, perfectly round, haloed by a vastly splendid glow of golden light, ancient, primitive, humbling. Then suddenly the clouds swallowed it. “Ach”, to quote Dylan Thomas, “the mean old clouds”.
