Last Wednesday citizens who strolled on to the Place to donate food to ZADists (the environmental activists committed to protecting rural areas threatened with destruction) were prevented from leaving it by teams of heavily armed gendarmes who’d arrived in scores of armoured vehicles. A police state only a phone call away?
